Notes from the Director – June 2009
GreetingsĀ and welcome to the month of June! Lots going on this month, from swap meets to festivals, music camps to musicals – you’ll find a plethora of activity on our Events page, provided by our good friends over at Ducks Deluxe. Be sure to check Ducks website out featuring everything from accessories to songwriting and copywriting kits.
This month, our newsletter features a few interesting tidbits. John LeVan will be showing you the finer points of what happens when DIY project go wrong, so very horribly wrong. In coming months, John will be expanding his column to talk to you about amps, amp modification and things that you can do to help prolong the life of your amps.
We’ve got a great contest this month. We’re giving away an Eastwood Stormbird Guitar with many thanks to Peter and the kind folks over at Barking Dog Guitar Traders. “The Great Stormbird Extravaganza” will run throughout June and July. Be sure to enter!
Plus we have a great interview with Dave from More Music, a great shop out of Santa Cruz, California and also a great Gbase dealer.
Don’t forget to visit with us at Gbase.com. New Gear is uploaded every single day. Our dealers are holding a guitar (one that you didn’t even know you really, really wanted), just for you. Or maybe it’s an EFX pedal, or a bass guitar, or an amp or a recording mic, or a resophonic, maybe a pedal steel, or some tubes or a drum kit, or a speaker cabinet or…………….oh, you get the point! Enjoy the summer!

How does one go about advertising and getting their gear evaluated?
Gene – we don’t actually do “evaluations” of gear. Currently, we’re working on a classified section that would allow individuals to post their gear for sale on Gbase. We’re still a little bit away from that but hopefully before the end of the year. The best thing to do with your gear is to take it to a reliable dealer and have them look it over. Have them put it in writing as well. If you need a recommendation in your area, let us know and we’ll see what we can do to help.
