I hope this email finds many of you away on vacation enjoying some well needed battery recharging! July and August are the two most popular months for a little R&R. I know that I’m looking forward to a late August trip away to someplace quiet with guitar in tow.

This month the Gazette features a trip into Brooklyn, New York to visit with Gbase Dealer, Retro Fret. Lots going on in Brooklyn both in Retro Frets store and in the local Brooklyn community.

Big news on the Guitar.com front – after a great deal of rebuilding, our good friends over at Guitar.com are pleased to announce that the site is now back up and running. A new look and feel as well as new contests, content, and lessons are ready for perusal. Take a peeks at the new site and be sure to join one of their many contests!

We’ll also stop off with John LeVan down in Nashville, TN. He has an amazing column this month. His normal “Tips and Tone” column takes a brief hiatus to review John’s efforts during the recent Nashville Flood. John had a front and center seat on the clean up after the Cumberland waters receded and he share his photo essay as well as some thoughts as to how things played out.
