This is fantastic man, always been a Rickenbacker fan and I'm glad to see someone using the great tones of the 4000. Awesome playing and tone this is fantastic.

Hi Larry, I can only say that since I got this bass it has changed my life, and I can't find any fault in the sound I get from it. Saying that though my preferred sound is quite middley so I don't know if I can give you an objective opinion here but in comparison with other rickies (4001 or 4003) it sounds just as deep and in many ways better because of the way instruments were built back then 🙂 if you have the opportunity to buy one, don't think twice, go for it!!!!

    Cheers

Very nice , tight playing. I have a question for you. I'm thinking about getting a 4000 but I'm concerned that maybe it lacks some low end because of no neck pup. Can you get nice and deep low end with it?

    Hi there,
    Sorry for the late reply.
I usually have the LEVEL pot at 12 o`clock (middle), the drive to the max, treble 11 o`clock, bass 12 o`clock, presence – minimum, and I have noticed that with these settings the most important pot is the BLEND – changing the blend will give you the different distorted sounds.
    Hope that Helps 🙂

Wow a really love your rick. Amazing tone.
    Pretty good and tight.
I also did the same song with a fender jazz…
