If you haven't seen it: a half year ago I recorded a similar (different songs!) video in the cold at the waterside: https://youtu.be/HxidLad8Ack
And now I'm back, under very totally different circumstances! Hope you enjoy it ๐Ÿ™‚

Can you please make a tutorial on how you mix your audio? Eqing and compression and so on?
Would help me out a lot

You play in the Heartland really well. I like how you play it best.

Dear Paul, May I introduce my literary project MusicLetters:
In a world, where we communicate โ€žefficientlyโ€œ by โ€žcommentsโ€œ, โ€žpostsโ€œ and โ€žshort messagesโ€œ, creating personal and elegant letters
seems to be a long-forgotten craft. Not too long ago, profound works of art were created by our despairing need of intimate conversation in times of separation and depression. To revive the beauty of sophisticated written communication in form of elegant letters combined with a delicate musical sense I propose the following:
Please send me (links of) 5 to 8 songs (artist/version) that affected or inspired your life (for example as aswers to this comment), and, based on my private associations with these songs, I will return a letter.

This project is aiming to create illuminating literature based on the association with music (MusicLetters), and, by doing so, to increase or broaden the audience of the author(s). I intend to publish a collection of these letters. If you have a taste for literature, e.g. you wish
to reverse the above, or answer my letter, we will surely share common authorship. The worst that can happen to you is that you get a letter you do not like. For any inquiries regarding this project, please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Best Wishes,Chris (from Vienna)

You're a cut above every other guitar channel on YouTube. We appreciate the great work, Paul!

  7. Rick Jenkins

Beautiful music, beautifully played in a beautiful setting! And that goofy looking furry wind sock did an amazing job as well, I heard very little wind in what looked to be a rather blustery day. Well done all around!

Hey everybody. I'm a veteran to the industry, and i'm learning how to use this social media thing for my music. If any of you wanna hear an old soul sing, check me out

  9. The Boss

This video really shows why Doc and similar guitarists really are the greatest fingerstyle guitarists.

I love Knopfler but his style is much too 'riff' oriented. He puts some impressive licks in his pieces but at the cost of the bass line.

Sounds good but it just can't match the prowess of Doc and others.

Paul, you are a great guitar player and musician. On acoustic songs, such as these, I yearn to hear the vocal. I have noticed that Tommy Emmanuel is doing "collaborations" with vocalists and IMHO that might be a good thing for you as well. Just a suggestion. I notice that when I play acoustic, the moment I start singing, it's a whole new dimension.

I thought that bead branch was a gigantic tree trunk laying all the way across the beach ๐Ÿ˜…

Don't you know any Marcel Dadis (Old French guitarist) songs ? "Swingy Blues", "Swingy Boogie" I'm sure you'll love it

  13. Zachary Byers

Nice! Love the inclusion of Doc Watson. Local guitar hero here in North Carolina

  14. Michael Russell

A great video as always Paul! I've been playing for years but should be a lot better than I am for the length of time I've been playing. What do you think would be the biggest thing to enhance someones playing? Some theory like the caged system or more focus on technique? I mostly play acoustic

  15. SoundYogi

great video work on the intro but the shoes were jarring. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  16. Joseph Grady

I was pleasantly surprised to see John Fahey there at the end, great tune, and great playing from you Paul, just earned a sub ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. Jason Wright

Paul, not only are your lessons wonderful, but your voice and accent are bloody heavenly. Keep up the awesome work.

  18. Andreas Fischer

After years of guitar playing, I become more and more an acoustic guitar player… no cables, no need for any effects and amps… just the guitar and you with nice lovely fingerpicking! I absolutely love your video ๐Ÿ‘

  19. Avi Soncino

Before watching this video I was thinking to myself "there better be a Mark Knopfler/ Dire Straits song on here." I guess my thoughts are correct

  20. Iangkee Go

great playing man crisp and precise, the scenery and camera are sweet
