This is by far THE BEST and EASIEST way to setup Floyd Rose. Thanks Frudua. BUT…fk floyd rose. I am selling my guitar. 10 years of continuous pain even tho I have been following Frudua's advice for past 7 years. 😢

Galeazzo, sei un vero genio italiano. Non sai quanto mi hai aiutato. Grazie tantissimo.

Why do so many people have problems with locking trems?.. it's just simple physics.. increased tension from the strings means you have to increase tension from the springs..

Doesn’t work. This is the tenth video I’ve tried and nothing works. I really hate Floyd Rose.

Good video. But for most guitarists, I would advise them to avoid this Floyd Rose. It's like using an iPhone to send morse code on Watsapp. Floyd Rose creates more problems than it solves.

What a great way to do it! It almost seems easier than setting a hard-tail… Very nice and simple idea, will save me a lot of trouble!

I see this is an old video but I just got an Ibanez Jem jr and was having soo much trouble setting it up. Your video was a real help. Many Thanks

you remove the wood that handle the bridge, btw is that six string not broke? because pulling by the per..

Great advice! very easy to follow and worked perfectly first try. No need to take a long time setting up a floyd rose when you can do it much faster with such a technique that you shared with us. thanks !

This video is without a doubt the best video on youtube for setting up this type of trem… ive tried this on an Ibanez RG350, a Kramer Pacer with a licensed Floyd and some other dirt cheap guitar with a cheap and nasty Floyd copy and it worked on all of them with no problem at all…. those who say this does not work are either not paying attention… skipping some of the steps because you think you know eveything or are full of shit….. a guitar tech charges quite a lot of money to set these things up, you can do it here for free and correctly if you use your brain for a few mins.

I suggest using a thick foam or rubber to block the trem to neutral or 0 point, instead of wood as it may ruin the finish (more often it will, if you use wood or any hard object). You can even use old sports socks to jam the trem to neutral position. I usually do not touch the fine tuners (set/left in neutral/mid-point) until I get all strings tuned with the string bar (if equipped) and nut locked. More often, I do not even have to use the fine tuners. This is just my opinion and sharing. I have owned several guitars, mostly with floating bridges over decades.

When I tune the guitar as explained in 5:00, the tremelo lifts up, in the rear, as the strings tighten, and the wood block falls out. Why does this happen and how can it be fixed?

holy shizzle, fuck the Floyd rose, isn't worth all this extra effort.

I have always just used one of those pink pencil erasers that we used in elementary school. .

I've got a Peavey Predator EXP Plus which has a Floyd Rose (FR) Tremelo. I burst a string on it about ten years ago. Been too scared to fix it myself until now, that is!

i installed steel strings and the bridge went out of wack. your video saved the day. its perfectly set. thank you

Thans for posting this – I avoided changing strings on one Floyd Rose equipped guitars because it was a pain. Used these instructions – perfect first time! Grazie!

Quali sono le conseguenze nel mantenere il ponte con la coda rialzata di qualche grado invece che parallela?

  19. Jonathan Read

I have followed this video exacty, I have attempted this 5 times now and I am sure there is nothing that I am doing wrong – every time I take the wood out from under the bridge, the tuning goes way out, not just sharp, but completely fucked. no amount of unscrewing the screws in the back of the trem will fix this and the bridge does never stay parallel to the guitar body.

guitar just gets fuced Floyd rose is level then once I tune it's all fuced eve with the wood can't do this shit

Worked first time for me, thanks again for another great tutorial.

  23. Josh Blevins

can't you use the same concept by screwing the Floyd rose springs all the way out… I've tried this way and it does work on occasion. but with this method your prone to pop new strings a lot easier due to to much tension on the strings. !!

  24. Dale Rasco

Used this technique last night and it worked perfectly! Thank you sir!

  25. LesPaul2006

What if the string tension is uneven? Like a Fat Bottom type of guitar string set?

greeting me whether dealing may be troughs 011 wires for floyd rose in d stimulated or 09 is better?

  27. Sam Deeks

Fantastic help as always Galeazzo. I just needed to set a guitar up quickly to get some pictures before listing on eBay and time was short. Your method worked perfectly and within minutes – but with one difference: on the Ibanez RG370DX a wedge won't hold the bridge up because by the time the bridge is level, there's not enough room below it for this to work. So I put the tremelo arm in, turned it to face the back of the guitar and pushed the wedge under THAT – which stopped the bridge going down when I tightened up the trem screws in the back. This is just another way of doing what you recommended and worked perfectly for me.

Thanks again – I do my best to share your set up tips AND your fabulous harmonies wherever I can 🙂

And I'm going to start saying 'screws' the way you say it in English, it's much better. "Skew" 🙂

Seriously thank you so much, I have the biggest grin on my face right now. I finally fucking understand this guitar god damn it, took me way too long to do this.

I'll refer to this video in the future when I forget/change tuning.
